Closer working with our European couterparts

We've signed up to a platform of co-operation with Dutch and German highway authorities.

Closer working with our European counterparts

At this week's Highways UK tradeshow, we signed a memorandum of agreement with counterparts from Die Autobahn of Germany, and the Rijkswaterstaat of the Netherlands.

The agreement establishes a platform for effective co-operation and understanding between the three authorities. This creates great opportunities for exchanging ideas, information and even staff.

The relationship will cover a period of two years. Key areas of interest to all involved are:

  • safety
  • digitalisation
  • resilience
  • road network governance
"We can only benefit from closer collaboration with other agencies, and we hope these relationships will support us in achieving our strategic objectives and continuing to develop our ways of working."
Nick Harris, Chief Executive, National Highways
