Supporting veterans and people with disabilities back into employment

We’re helping Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) support veterans and people with disabilities in their journey to employment - making thousands of road signs each year for England’s motorways and major A-roads

RBLI is leading this initiative through its social enterprise, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC). BBMC employs more than 100 people – 70% of whom are veterans and people with disabilities. It reinvests 100% of its surplus into the enterprise, providing greater employment opportunities.

With help from us and our suppliers, RBLI has been able to significantly expand its operations and improve the lives of the people it supports.

Jeff Blizard, a former soldier in the Queen’s Regiment diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, was out of work for 10 years. BBMC has supported him on his journey back to full time employment, making road signs

Our aid has also enabled RBLI to invest in state-of the art machinery, which is faster and more energy efficient.

This is one example of how we are working to add social value through our activities. We see social value as the benefits that we and our supply chain can deliver for people, environment and the economy.
