New video fly-through shows improved design

In January, we launched our latest fly-though for our Development Consent Order application.

This fly-through illustrates the improved design of the route, which has been shaped by the most comprehensive programme of consultation and engagement ever undertaken for a UK road scheme.

The Lower Thames Crossing is not a nice to have, it’s a vital piece of the UK’s future infrastructure that would tackle congestion on the Dartford Crossing and help unlock the huge potential of the Thames Estuary.

We’re investing in the local community and environment. We recently gave funding to West Kent Downs Countryside Trust so they can enhance Cobham Woods and keep 6km of tracks clear for walkers and cyclists.

Lower Thames Crossing to use hydrogen powered construction machinery

Last month, we announced our plans to reduce our carbon footprint, becoming the first major UK infrastructure project to use hydrogen to power its heavy construction machinery.

Our first sustainability report
